PAINTING THE WATERFRONT: Moni Duersch gazes at her rendering of Wilma — the beloved beluga whale that delighted residents along Chedabucto Bay for decades — for Guysborough’s emerging waterfront mural. Led by local artists Duersch and Kelly Harnish, and supported by ArtWorks East, the two-part installation reflects the region’s history and cultural diversity. Backed by provincial and community funding, the murals are slated for completion later this fall and mark an early milestone in the Shiretown’s broader Main St. revitalization.
